The RTVF Film Library
The Radio-TV-Film Department is home to the Gwendolyn P. Tandy Memorial Film Library, an extensive collection of movies and television programs on DVD, VHS, and Laser Disc. The collection currently includes more than 15,000 titles and new items are added every month. Student workers staff the Library during Fall and Spring semesters.
The Film Library is not a lending library; rather, it is an essential teaching resource for the RTVF department. Faculty can use the most recent films and programs in their classes, so that course material is always up-to-date. Students may schedule time to watch films in the Library, whether it be for a class or as a way of exploring their own interests and independent projects.
The Film Library also makes it possible for the RTVF Department to offer its Thursday Night Movies free film series. Both the Library and the Thursday Night Movies are coordinated by Prof. Joan McGettigan.
